The new Axius™ rupture disc from Fike represents a revolutionary advancement in high performance rupture disc and pressure relief technology. Designed to be used in aggressive chemical and pharmaceutical applications, the Axius™ rupture disc is available in corrosion-resistant materials and has the tightest tolerances available. The Axius™ can also operate without fatigue from full vacuum, up to a 95% operating ratio in excess of 50,000 times -- the best cycle performance offered in a high-performance, low-pressure rupture disc!
In addition, the Axius™ has the lowest KRGL (a measure of how well the rupture disc opens and pressure flows out of the vessel) available in a high performance rupture disc. That means pressure is relieved faster, protecting the vessel from damage.
Utilizing Fike's new G2® Technology design and rupture disc manufacturing, Axius™ is the first of its kind to be manufactured without score tooling. When tooling is used to create a score line it stresses the material where the tooling has been applied, thus creating an area for potential fatigue and/or failure. The Axius™ rupture disc has a "line of weakness" on the dome itself. Thus there are no stress zones that can fatigue and no tool marks or indentations on the process side of the rupture disc, making this the only 95% operating ratio disc with a completely smooth process surface. This allows the Axius™ to deliver higher operating ratios without chemical build-up, allowing more work from the rupture disc ... and better protection of the production process!
The Axius™ rupture disc with G2® Technology enables plants to realize increased efficiency, cost reductions and higher levels of process performance. The Axius™ rupture disc has:
- The Tightest tolerances
- The Lowest KRGL available
- A 95% Operating Ratio
- The Best Cycle Performance
- A Reverse acting design
Fike's G2® Technology far surpasses traditional methods of pressure relief and rupture disc design and has culminated in the release of this exciting high-performance rupture disc.
