BLUE SPRINGS, Missouri, June 17, 2019: Fike Corporation, a global manufacturer and distributor of industrial fire, explosion and pressure relief safety products, will now offer 3MTM Novec TM 1230 Fire Protection Fluid in its patented Impulse Valve Technology fire suppression system.
“The most globally recognized sustainable clean agent is now part of the Fike fire suppression product line,” said Jason Jones, Fike’s Global Fire Suppression Product Manager. “We’re excited to bring the market the combined benefits of 3M’s Novec 1230 Fire Protection Fluid and Fike’s Impulse Valve Technology and customer service.”
3M Novec 1230 fluid is waterless, discharged as a gas, leaves no residue, and is electrically non-conductive, making it an ideal solution for quickly extinguishing fires in spaces occupied by electronics or irreplaceable assets and where business continuity is critical. Its environmental profile supports sustainability and LEED initiatives with zero ozone depleting potential and a global warming potential that’s less than one.
For the first time ever, 3M Novec 1230 fluid will be featured in a Fike fire suppression system with Impulse Valve Technology. This patented valve uses Fike’s high-performance AXIUS® rupture disc, enabling systems with smaller diameter pipe, longer flow distances and greater design flexibility than most other systems.
“3M is proud to be working with Fike – a recognized leader in fire suppression and industrial safety solutions,” said Dave Nyberg, Global Business Manager for 3M’s Electronics Materials Solutions Division. “Fike’s new fire suppression system using Novec 1230 fluid provides the industry with yet another innovative option from a leading equipment manufacturer. Together we can help advance the industry toward more environmentally sustainable solutions and give customers the ability to help protect their critical assets and the world we live in.”
