SF 1230 fluid meets or exceeds the quality and purity standards set and accepted by the global fire protection industry for over 20 years.
Your 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Replacement
Since 3M announced the cancellation of Novec 1230 in 2022, users of the clean agent have been forced to find a suitable replacement, and one with the same approvals, testing and validation as the original.
That’s why Fike partners with the Standard Fluids Corporation™ for its SF 1230™ Fire Protection Fluid, the perfect drop-in replacement to meet any existing Novec 1230 specifications, and to protect new installations as well. This clean agent shares the same chemical compound as Novec 1230, known generically as FK-5-1-12, and has the following characteristics:
Eco-Friendly - A colorless, odorless, water-insoluble, thermally stable, zero ODP, low GWP agent that meets the most stringent international environmental regulations and yet is extremely effective at suppressing fires.
Physical Properties - Discharges as a gas, but remains liquid at room temperature. It is electrically non-conductive in both its liquid and gaseous states. With a boiling point of 49.2°C, SF 1230 fluid has a lower vapor pressure than other clean agents, which are typically gaseous at ambient conditions.
Limitless Applications - Widely used for fire protection systems in total flooding applications, SF 1230 is especially effective in data centers, electronic control centers, computer rooms, transformer rooms, museums and other mission critical environments.
Testing & Validation
Perhaps the most important feature for owners of Fike's clean agent systems using SF 1230 is the comfort of knowing that every system contains precisely what it claims. Every batch of SF 1230 meets or exceeds Novec 1230's purity (99.91% vs 99.67%) and is tested analytically by an independent ISO 9001-certified laboratory in the USA. It complies with NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520, and is UL listed and FM approved.
Warranty
Fike clean agent systems featuring SF 1230 are protected under Standard Fluids’ StratosClear™ Warranty, which covers customers’ investments if the fluid is ever banned or restricted in use as a fire protection agent within 20 years of installation.
